Uncle Clar . I will miss u. Phone calls every thanksgiving to see how the Manistee gang doing. U were my connection to Manistee, last of my dad's generation. U and family had heart of gold.I really miss all those days vacationing and seeing my pa's side of the family. We go blueberry picking with aunt Gert and u and when got back to the house Aunt Francis would be ready to make pies for everyone. Those were the best memories. He was great man. Love Mary McQuown

Clare was like the older brother I wanted but never had. Kind, positive, challenging-our own kind of renaissance man. He gave me a sense of belonging-really being part of a family. He gave me back to myself-and for that I am eternally grateful. Thanx, Clare, for everything! They didn't call you "smiles" for nothing !
