Jerrell Lamar Henson, Sr.

Mr. Jerrell Lamar Henson, Sr., age 74, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015, at a local hospital.He was born in Floyd County on September 28, 1940, son of the late John Wiley Henson and the late Drucilla Johnston Henson. He was retired from Galey & Lord after 40 years of service. He was a member of New Antioch Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Kisselburg Henson.Survivors include 2 sons, Jerrell L. Henson, Jr., and his wife, Susie, Lake Park, GA, and Johathan Henson, and his wife, Linda, Rome; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a special life long friend, Arthur McCarley, Rome, also survives.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at 1pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral, South Chapel, with the Rev. Max Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel on Monday from 6until 8pm. At other hours they may be contacted at the residence of a son, Johathan Henson, 811 Ward Mountain Road, Rome.Pallbearers serving are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday at 12:30pm and include: Ronnie Williams, Dylan Stewart, John Herring, Randy Smith, Chris Kisselburg, and Benjamin Cruz.Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangements.
