Jerry Kevin Glazner

Memorial services for Jerry Kevin Glazner, 59, will be Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel with Reverend Wayne Lawson officiating.

Jerry was born August 2, 1964 in New Braunfels, Texas and passed away peacefully at his home in Ft. Worth, Texas, after battling cancer, surrounded by his family and friends on February 26, 2024.

He graduated from Ardmore High School, class of 1982.  He started working for Cigna Health Insurance Company in May of 1991, as a claims assistant and retired in August 2019 as an Executive Administrative Assistant.

Jerry spent over 2 decades of his life giving back to his community by raising funds for the AIDS Outreach Center, St. Jude Children's Hospital and other children's charities, food banks and other Ft. Worth Charities.  As a lover of music, and a foodie, he enjoyed traveling with family and friends to visit far away places and to experience the beauty he found in everything.  He loved visiting unfamiliar places, meeting people from other cultures and making new friends from around the world.  His kind and generous demeanor always shone through his infectious smile and quick wit.  He never met a stranger and was loved and respected by all his friends and neighbors who will fell his absence profoundly.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father Bobby Eugene Glazner and his brother Kenneth Wayne Glazner.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Clara Matthews of Ardmore; sisters, Melinda Thorburn of Colorado Springs; Pam Nelson of Ardmore; Cindy Glazner and Kristi Matthews of Ardmore; brothers, Bob Basinger of Ohio and Lance Matthews and wife Tammy of Ardmore.  Three nephews Jeffery Glazner, Brandon Glazner and Dustin Iliff and wife Amanda; five nieces Brandi Cox and husband Jeremy; Kelli Nelson and fiancé` Luke Werner; Cassie Ayers and husband Brandon; and Kendra Glazner and fiancé` Kaysen McMillin; and Presley Matthews; six great nephews, Ashton Glazner, Brycen and Sheppard Glazner; Carson Bumgarner, Zane and Kyson Iliff; and seven great nieces, Brooklyn and Summer Throneberry, Peyton and Heidi Ayers; Jakoda Holland; Kennedi and Kamdyn Denney.
