Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. Age 85.
Jerry was a multi-talented fun loving son, brother, husband, dad, grandfather and friend to all. He grew up in St. Bernard where he still had so many memories of St. Clement and Roger Bacon. When he and his twin brother Jim were 17 they enlisted in the Air Force. After that he was a tool & die maker at GM Fisher Body in Fairfield where he made lifelong friends who were like a second family. After retiring he just kept on moving to other jobs in White Oak where he made many friends running his own brake job repair and lawn mower repair where he would deliver mowers around to people who had trouble transporting them. When he could no longer scoot around with that type of job, he was approached by St. James Maintenance about working there which he did for many years and enjoyed meeting all the people who worked in the school and the parish. When no longer at St. James he started working for Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home driving the hearses and limos and he laughed about it being the first time he had to wear a nice suit and tie for work and he liked the job because nobody ever talked back to him, Haha. He was involved in many activities in White Oak and St. James . A couple were parish council and the fish fry. He enjoyed all things in life. Besides work he was very busy with all six children’s many activities driving and cheering and entertaining for all the variety of interests in a busy household. One of his biggest loves was Hudepohl camp on the river that made him so happy to share with so many friends from every walk of life. We all wondered how many 100 kids he had taught to water ski over the years. He loved traveling and seeing the world. A few years back we went to New Hampshire just because it was the only state to which he had not been. He made all 50!! He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend that leaves a multitude of smiles just thinking of him.
