The Rogers Park/Turkey Creek Volunteer Fire Department would like to send our sincerest and heartfelt condolences to the Lockard family. Jerry was a member of the Fire Department for many years. He loved serving his community and helping others. Jerry could always put a smile on your face and make your day better. He will be truly missed. We are truly sorry for your loss.

Uncle Jerry was a one of kind man. He means so much to me and our family. He treated me so good but he would take crap from ya. He was straight and to the point. I learned alot from him growing up what it means to serve your country and your community. He will be deeply missed love you uncle jaybird ! Hug my mommy for me and paw and mawmaw tell them all we miss them and love them rest in heaven. I see you soon.

Jerry's Obituary

     Jerry Lockard, 67, of Williamson, WV, passed away Tuesday morning, May 31, 2022, at his residence.  Jerry was born May 13, 1955, at Hamtramck, Michigan, the son of the late Haskel Lockard and Ethel Fry Lockard.  He was also preceded in death by one brother, Gary Lockard and one sister, Nina Lester.  Jerry was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served for over 17 years.  He had also worked for Mountain Enterprise and was a member of the Turkey Creek Freewill Baptist Church.  Survivors include his loving wife, Sheila Ann Lester Lockard of Williamson, WV; his children, Amber Lockard, Jerry Bradley Lockard, Christopher (Michelle) Steele, Jack Garnett (Tausha) Steel and Harley Ray Lester; his siblings, Nita Lester, Harold Lockard, Larry Lockard, Haskel Lockard, Billy Lockard, Goldie Huff and JoAnn Arteaga-Perez.  He also leaves behind several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.  Visitation for Jerry will be held Thursday, June 2, 2022, beginning at 12 noon at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with his funeral to begin at 1 PM with Mikey Smith officiating.  Following the funeral, Belfry Chapter #141 Disabled American Veterans will conduct military services.  R.
