Condolences to his family

I liked Jerry so much. I wish I had been around him more. He was a genuine person. Jim Comer Grandson of Tom Taylor of Mantachie, Miss.

He was a good friend.

I first met Jerry when I worked at Cook-Coggin Engineers as a high school student in the 60's. Then I served a term in the Mississippi Legislature with him. For four years, He, Butch Lambert , Tommy Brooks and I would ride to Jackson together on Monday and return on Friday. I got a great education during those weekly rides with Jerry. Since his obituary told some of his stories, I will add another one. On one week , as the four of us were riding back home on a Friday, the discussion came up...

We certainly will miss our longtime friend and neighbor from Waterloo. It’s been a pleasure to know and appreciate Jerry for his wit, hospitality, and colorful storytelling. Our deepest condolences are with you during this difficult time.

So sorry for your loss, he was a great friend. May God give you comfort as only he can.

So sorry for your loss. Uncle Jerry will always be remembered for his humor and the joy he brought to everyone around him. I have such sweet memories of coming over for Christmas dinner as a kid, and I can still picture his face and hear his voice calling me “Butter Bean” — it always made me smile. Thinking of you, Bronson and Millie, during this difficult time. We love you all so much.

The Jumper family of Prentiss County (Jumpertown) is so sorry for your loss. Jerry was a wonderful friend. He spent several hours talking & laughing with my grandfather (Herschel) & my dad (Gatha). We have some wonderful memories of which could tell the "tallest". We are praying for each of you during this difficult time. Lu, Mary Evelyn, & Donna Jumper

So sorry for your loss
