Jesse Ernest ?Ernie? Compton, Jr., age 88, passed away Wednesday March 11, 2015 in Fayetteville. He was born February 28, 1927 in Etowah, Tennessee, the son of Jesse Ernest and Imogene Williams Compton. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Kerry Louise Compton; a sister Frances Tucker and a grandson Charles Leslie Rice.He was a United States Army veteran during World War II and reenlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Georgia State University as well as a graduate from Woodrow Wilson School of Law, and was a member of the Alpha Tau Chapter of the Intercollegiate Fraternity of Sigma Delta Kappa Law Fraternity.He is survived by his wife Louise Compton of Springdale, Arkansas; three daughters Elaine Teague and her husband Ricky of Springdale, Arkansas, Laura Klassen and her husband Andrew of Allen, Texas, Lisa Rice of Springdale, Arkansas; one sister Sybil Meyers of Marietta, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Will, Jennifer, Catherine, Emily, Andrea, Bridget and Paul; five great- grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.Memorial service will be 2:00 PM Friday March 13, 2015 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
