Leona, I just learned of Jesse's death. I'm so sorry. I'm one of those who have emailed back and forth with him every few days. He was a really neat guy. I, too, will miss him.

What a great man .always .he will be missed.loved the jokes he was always sending me on email.great classmate.GOD bless him and you. With our sincere regrets ,Pat and wallace

Dear Leona & family & friends,
What a great life and example he has given to the world. He was a great friend/classmate and held our class together through the years! I remember like yesterday our ( Jesse & I) electricity demonstration at A & M Univ. Swimming was great to at the great Shamrock Hilton Hotel where his Dad worked.

Jesse has had & will have a special place in the hearts of all who have known him, especially his high school classmates.

Jesse's Obituary

Jesse Thomas Hurst Jr., age 73 of Lampasas, TX died Sunday May 4, 2014 at Rollins-Brook Community Hospital. He was born November 11, 1940 in San Diego, CA the son of Jesse Thomas Hurst Sr. and Eria Maud (Massey) Hurst. Jesse served in the U.S. Navy as well as the Navy Reserve for 30 years before retiring. Jesse also worked at Ft. Hood with the Post Engineers.  Most recently, Jesse served as the local Veterans Service Officer.

 

Survivors include wife, Leona Hurst of Lampasas

Sons, Roger Miller of Brady

William Hurst of Magnolia

Eric Hurst and wife Connie of Montgomery

Daughters, Sandra Cavil of Houston

Judy Nash and husband Mark of Mason

Dawn Baumbach and husband Steve of Huntsville

Grandchildren; Roger Miller Jr., Kenneth Miller and wife Sindy, Briel Cavil, Tuesdy Cavil, Chimere Cavil, Christopher Hurst, Casey Hurst, Dustin Hurst, Chance Hurst, Danielle Baumbach, Brittany Baumbach, Mark Nash, Zachary Nash and wife Alicia, and Abigail Nash

Great grandchildren; Megan Miller, Josh Miller, Henry Cavil, Kaylee Middleton, and Karley Middleton

 

Jesse was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Jane Hurst Miles.

 

A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen at a later date.
