Jesse's Obituary

Jesse Shepard Sr.

(October 20, 1944 – June 18, 2016)

On June 18, 2016, a great man passed away with great surprise to his loving family and friends. Jesse Shepard Sr. was born on October 20, 1944 in Willis, Texas to parents Minnie C. Shepard and Otis Washington.  This man was always there to encourage and help others; he really left his special footprint on anyone and everyone he has encountered.  His wisdom, his knowledge, his humor has shined on us all.  Jesse graduated from Carver High School in Houston, Texas.  He also bravely served his country as part of the U.S. Army.  Jesse graduated from the University of Houston.  He met and fell in love with Carolyn Shepard in 1975, and they joined each other in holy matrimony in 1976.  After graduating from college he began a long career as an educator at which time he continued, until retiring from John H. Reagan High School.  A man who loved to travel, loved to work outside in his yard, and who loved restoring old cars.  Jesse loved his grandkids and he taught his children so much from drawing, to working on outside projects, to fishing, etc.

Jesse Shepard was preceded in death by his parents, Lee A. White Sr. and Minnie C. White, and also by two sisters, Betty L. Jefferson and Telia F. Nelson.

Jesse leaves to mourn wife, Carolyn Shepard and his children Christie L. Shepard, Shawn L. Hooey, Jermaine Shepard, and Jesse Shepard Jr.; along with four sisters, Minnie Porter, Maxine Chaney, Rosie White-Jones and Carol White, and two brothers, Lee A. White Jr. and Jasper White.
