Jessica "Jessie"'s Obituary

Jessica "Jessie" I. Parcel, age 72, most recently of Mason City, IA, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 22, 2024, with her loving family at her side at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, Mason City.        Public visitation and viewing will be on Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 1-2:30 PM at the Belmond United Church of Christ,----West Main St., Belmond,, IA. A time of food a fellowship with Jessica's favorite snacks will fellowship and the a public funeral service will take place at the church Saturday at 3:30 pm.  Pastor David Boogerd will be officiating.  Burial will take place Monday afternoon at the Iowa Veteran's Cemetery, Van Meter, IA.  Those wishing to express their sympathies through a card or memorial may direct them % Jessica Parcel Family, 305 9th Street N.E., Mason City IA 50401.  Andrews Funeral Homes, Belmond, IA is handling funeral arrangements.      Jessica Parcel was born May 23, 1951, to Lucille and George Bell in California.  Jessica had two sisters she loved dearly; Cindy Guzeman and Marie Schoby.  Jessica lived most of her childhood in California.  Jessica and her cousins would and help her dad with his orchard farms and she would talk about these fond memories in her later years.         As Jessica grew into a young adult she had her sons Corey (Tye) Parcel, Des Moines, IA, and Jason Ross, Sexton, MO.  Jessica endured many hardships as single mother until she met her hunny. Bill Parcel as he was serving in the Navy.  The two became one and married in San Diego, Ca, on May 6, 1978.  Only death could separate the two.  While the two stayed in California while Bill was serving in the Navy, they had another baby boy Willy (Ashlee), Algona, IA.  They later moved to Iowa, Bill's home state. Their they had Sheena (Brian Thompson, Mason City, IA. They were so proud to finally have their baby girl!      Jessica loved working at a variety of jobs, but above all treasured being a stay at home mom.  Jessica cherished all four of her children.  She later in life became a grandmother and that to her was an even greater accomplishment.  She had 6 grandchildren: Cheyenne (Zach) Lee, Mason City, IA, Maddison (Marcelous) Spencer, Mason City, IA, Kaley, William and Miley Parcel, Algona, IA, and her newest grandchild Grayson Thompson, Mason City, IA.  Grayson and her had a very close bond, and you could catch them cuddling in bed watching cartoons and eating a snack.  Jessica also had many great grandchildren including: Josiah Gardner, Maverick, RaeLynn and Olivia Lee, all of Mason City, IA,  and Zavier Parcel.
