I am reminded of Jill everyday when I see my 4 beautiful cats
which I acquired when she enlist my help to TNR a feral
colony she was feeding at the Border Patrol station when
she worked there. After scouting out our trap placement
the day before when I arrived the next morning a lady came out
and said there was a mother cat and a newborn in the building
what should she do with them. Since the newborn was to
young to be left I agreed to take them home with...

Obituary

Jilda's Obituary

Jilda Jay Blocklinger, passéd away on Saturday, November 19, 2016 after a lengthy illness. She was born October 9, 1956, in McAllen, Texas. Her childhood led her across the country. She was preceded in death by her father, James A. Blocklinger and is survived by her mother Helen L. Blocklinger, her sister Judith L. Blocklinger and beloved cousins. She will be greatly missed by family and loved ones. After graduating from Del Rio high school , Jilda attended business college in Austin, Texas and enjoyed working in a bank in Austin. In 1996 she returned to Del Rio and worked at the U.S. Border Patrol Headquarters until she became too ill to continue her career. She loved her family, music and all animals. She possessed a dry, clever wit. Caring and generous, people came to her with their troubles. Her level of sensitivity to everything around her was amazing though often difficult for her to bear. Jilda lived a Christian life throughout her illness. She never lost her faith in God. Her calling went out to animals of the world. From childhood on she rescued the helpless and defenseless. To her, all creatures were equal from the tiniest moth to the greatest person. She was a vegetarian and she prayed that one day the lion would lie down with the lamb. Graveside services will be held at the family plot in McAllen, Texas at a later date. In lieu of usual remembrances donations can be given to animal shelter, Humane Society or charity of choice. Funeral arrangements with G. W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home, of Del Rio LTD, 114 Fletcher Drive, Del Rio, Texas. 78840 Ph: 830.775.2000
