Not sure what to say?

My sincere sympathies Jane on Jim's passing. He was a great guy and I always enjoyed visiting with him when I saw him. I'm praying for all of you during this difficult time.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

Adam and I were deeply saddened by the news of your passing. We spent so much time together when we were small. So many great memories and moments shared. As we grew into adults we didn't get to see you guys at much but when we did you always showed us love and hospitality. We always had great visits to Frankenmuth. You were a great man and will be missed by so many. Rest easy Uncle Jimmy, I love you. Squeeze my mama tight for me.

Dear Jane and Family. I was shocked and saddened to read this today about your husband. Our deepest sympathy on your huge loss. May God give you peace and of course, looking forward to be reunited with Jesus and all who have preceded us.

Jim you are gone way too soon. I remember when you got some night crawlers and they landed on my grandmothers chest and she kept pulling them off of her! Saying what is this! You loved fishing from the time you were old enough to walk! I will miss you love your aunt Chris

Jim was my ring bearer in my wedding, and that night Jim was nowhere to be found , here he was out getting night crawlers and probably went fishing the next day he loved to go fishing along with my son and his brother. Love you Jim

Jim's Obituary

James “Jim” William Johnson

September 9, 1955 – October 19, 2025

James William Johnson, 70, of Frankenmuth, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home with family and loved ones at his side.  Jim fiercely fought cancer this year, winning the first battle with flying colors but ultimately losing the war. Born September 9, 1955, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Jim lived a life filled with travel, a great love for the outdoors and his family.

Jim had a deep appreciation for nature—whether he was hunting, fishing, golfing or just enjoying the view, he felt most at home outside. He had a gift for finding a way to repair anything, and he approached life’s challenges with strength, good cheer and a true warmth of heart.

Jim was a devoted husband to his wife of 34 years, Jane Sassone Johnson.  He is survived by his beloved children, Jennifer (Gage) Graham of Bay City, MI, James Johnson of Saginaw, MI and Ashley Johnson of Frankenmuth, MI. Also surviving are his brother, John (Sharon) Johnson, sister-in-law Deb Sassone, cousin Michael (Glenda) Hollingsworth, nephews and nieces Michael (Lena) Sassone, Matthew Sassone, Nicholas (Abby) Sassone, Hannah (Garrett) Morris, and many more family members and close friends. His family was his greatest source of pride and happiness.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James Robert Johnson and Ann Marie Stromer Johnson, his sisters, Roberta Ann Clark and Virginia Marie Snellgrove, and brother-in-law, Charles “Chip” Sassone.

Jim will be remembered for his kind heart, strong hands, and his unwavering love for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
