Jimmy's Obituary

Mr. Jimmy W. Odom, aged 86, passed away peacefully at his residence in Marion on November 18, 2025, following a brief illness. Born on September 25, 1939, in Marion County, Jimmy was the beloved son of the late Hagood C. Odom and Leona Capps Odom. He was predeceased by his cherished wife, Lucille Odom.

Jimmy was a proud graduate of Marion High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Newberry College. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. After his military service, Jimmy dedicated his career to the city of Augusta, Georgia, where he worked as a Purchasing Agent until his retirement.

A devout member of Tranquil Community Church, Jimmy was actively involved in his faith community, teaching the Adult Sunday School Class. He is survived by his loving nieces, Jonna Odom and Judy Wesley, and his nephew, Paul Odom. He was predeceased by his sister, Hazel O. Wesley, brother, Johnny F. Odom, and nephew, Randy D. Wesley.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Saturday morning, November 22, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. in the Fellowship Hall of Tranquil Community Church. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 A.M. in the church cemetery, with Rev. Grady Corder officiating, under the direction of Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins.
