Jimmy Lee Smith, 81, of Huddy, KY passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025 at his residence. Jimmy was born on February 13, 1944 in Huddy, KY, the son of the late Tom Smith and Anna Varney Smith. Jimmy was also preceded in death by his siblings, Efiie Smith, Edward Baker, Carl Bostic, Alice McCown, Roxie Zornes, Hattie Hensley and Vicie Smith, and his special nephew, Carl McCown. Jimmy worked for many years as a carpenter and attended the Community LightHouse Church. Jimmy proudly served our country in the United States Army.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife Elsie Jane Gollihue Smith of Huddy, KY; his nieces, Jennifer (Dexter) Coleman, Missie (Paul) Hatfield and Clara (Ronnie) Church and his uncle, Ireland Smith. Jimmy also leaves behind a host of other nieces, nephews, friends and pets.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 12 PM – 2 PM at the Community LightHouse Church. Burial will follow at the Mills Branch Cemetery in Stone, KY with Jimmy’s family and friends serving as pallbearers. R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, KY is serving the Smith family.
