Marie, so thankful that our paths crossed and I had the utmost privilege of meeting you and JM. I pray God will give you peace, jot and grace as you go through this time of sorrow. I love you and will miss seeing you and JM ever morning. If you are ever in need of lots of hugs please stop by and see all of us who have grown to love you and JM, and we will be waiting to give you lots of hugs.

He was just the sweetest man ever. I loved visiting with him and his wife at Sheridan. Prayers going up for the family

JM's Obituary

JM Butler, 90, of Burkburnett, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025.

A Celebration of JM’s life will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Central Baptist Church in Burkburnett with Pastor Duane Perkinson, officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett.

A son of the late Jess and Myrtle (Long) Butler, JM was born on September 26, 1935 in Grandfield, Oklahoma.  The only boy, JM was raised on a farm in Randlett, Oklahoma with his seven sisters.  He was a Veteran of the National Guard, and retired in 2001 from Sheppard Air Force Base after 20 plus years of service.

JM was a longtime faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Burkburnett where he served as Deacon, sang in the church choir and was a Bell ringer, as well as a member of the church’s men’s Breakfast Club.  He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.  JM loved going to the Colorado Rockies, fishing, bird watching and gardening, but most of all, he loved hanging out with his grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by four sisters, Cassie Smith, Velma Beavers, Johnnie Beavers and Venita Ingram.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marzie Butler of Burkburnett, Texas; his son, Bud Dulworth and wife Lisa of Randlett, Oklahoma; his daughter, Linda Crabtree and husband Rick of Burkburnett, Texas; five grandchildren, Jason Adams and wife Sheila of Devol, Oklahoma, Jarred Adams and wife Cody of Midland, Texas Nona Laminack and husband Brad of Devol, Oklahoma, Evan Crabtree of Wichita Falls, Texas and Jesse Butler and wife Emilee of Iowa Park, Texas; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; three sisters, June Dyer, Patsy Brown, and Sharon Moyer; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in honor of JM to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4400 Cypress Ave. Wichita Falls, TX 76310 (howf.org)
