Joan Barowski

Joan A. (Cordice) Barowski, of Somerville, passed away on August 27, 2022, she was 78. Born in Portland, Maine she was the cherished daughter of the late Eleanor M. (Hatch) and Frankie Cordice. Joan had a successful career for 22 years at the MWRA and and was a proud member of the Steelworkers Union Local 9358. Joan was the former wife and dear friend of the late John Barowski and mother of Deborah Lang and her husband John of Andover, her twin daughters, Dana Cordice McManus and her wife Julie of Marlborough and Deana Richardson and her husband Robert of Sandwich, Karen Richardson of Barnstable, Koreen Barowski of Medford, and twins, Joanne Lopez and her husband Troy of Washington Township, NJ, and John Barowski of Somerville. Joan was the loving grandmother of sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her best friends, Gail DaSilva, Janet Mary Rooney and Pat Fee, many cousins, nieces, nephews and her cherished cats Kiki and Kody. She joins her brother, the late Ronald Cordice. Funeral Procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Wednesday, September 7th at 10:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, Somerville/Medford line, at 11:00AM.
