We were so heartbroken to hear the news. She was such an inspiring and courageous woman, and she truly embraced life. We will always remember her incredible energy and how friendly and welcoming she was to us. May her souls rest in peace!

I had the opportunity to know Joan during the last eighteen months of her life. We met when I was leading the rosary on Tuesday mornings. It had been suggested to me to just say one decade but Joan piped up asking why we couldn’t do the whole rosary! From then on, we did the whole rosary. I started calling her St. Joan because she knew every prayer. Her slightly feisty personality won me over and we often talked for a few minutes. Grandma Joan and the boys

I feel so lucky to have met and known Grandma Joan. She was full of light, spunk, and a refreshing honesty that always made you smile.

One of my fondest memories is when she asked me for a drink — “a double gin and tonic with a lime.” When I brought it back to her, she raised an eyebrow and said, “Are you sure this is a double?” Her humor and spirit were truly one of a kind.

We will miss you dearly, Grandma Joan. May you rest peacefully in the loving embrace of our Lord...
