Joan Lester

Miss Lester was a wonderful person and a great teacher. A fellow classmate posted her obituary, and the good memories flowed. Never forgottenrest peacefully.

Joan was a newer resident here at The Cordwainer in Norwell but she ingratiated herself quickly becoming a favorite resident. We enjoyed her interesting stories and she was encouraging of other residents. She will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathy to Joan’s family and all who loved her.

Joan and I were students together at Merrimack High School, Keene Teachers College, and teachers at Merrimack Middle School for 25 years. We had good times as students and then as teachers. Joan was both a serious professional and a funny caring person.

Firm but fair, she ran a tight ship and made sure you made the most of her time yours. "Sit down before I... " Rest Well Ms Lester.

Miss Lester taught all or most of the 10 Goodridge kids. We learned about respect and responsibility. Rest in Peace.

Oh, Ms. Lester! She was a hoot. Had her for social studies in 1999. I'll never forget "Clear as mud!" She is one of those teachers you just never forget. May she rest in peace.

The memory of Ms. Lester that stands out far beyond the others is the profound compassion she showed me during a very difficult time in my childhood. She was a force in the classroom, but she took her time to connect with me and make sure I knew I wasn't alone. My heartfelt condolences to all who loved her.
