Joan Carol Hoppie Ogden

Joan was a great mentor to me as I started working at the Cyprus Seminary. She taught me all about that place. Thanks to her I had a wonderful job in a great place for 18 years. Our condolences to Jared, her son, who was a great high school friend of my son Jason. Also to all the family, my you have peace in the knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Love to you. Our condolences to the family. Joan was proud of her pioneer ancestors. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Joan was a surrogate Grandma to my children and loved to have them visit. Her welcome smile and kind words were always ready for them. I feel privileged to call her my friend. While you will be missed, I can only smile when I think about the wonderful reunions you are having in heaven and singing from on high!

My sincerest condolences to the Hoppie and Ogden families. Joan was a wonderful person and I will cherish my memories of her.

I will always treasure my memories of Aunt Joan's beautiful voice from the recordings we have of her time singing with the Tabernacle Choir and her solos. What a wonderful talent and beautiful voice she had and shared!
My fond memories also include visiting the family when they lived in Magna, and spending time with my cousins and aunt and uncle. Some of those were even sleepovers.

Joan is the finest example of a loving, caring, and well mannered person. She has the most wonderful temperament, patience as well as the highest values. She warmed so many hearts and lightened their burdens with every opportunity; whether it was a kind word when you faced challenges, or poignant remembrance when her angelic voice. In the neighborhood...she was known as the gentle Mom; opening her home to so many...whether making those wonderful Peanut Butter and Mouthwatering home-made Jam...

I am so sorry for your loss. Just remember, it is okay to feel loss. Just remember, feeling loss is a part of the healing process - for it always takes time and years to process the feelings that come with loss. For me, I have known loss to be a trial on my faith, my hope, love, appreciation, and a humbling experience. Let that loss be a trial that builds your faith, hope, etc. rather than tearing it down. Joan would be okay for you to find yourself and not to feel guilty for moving forward....
