Joan "Sue" Prenger, age 80, of Minster, Ohio, died on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Wilson Hospital, Sidney. She was born on February 12, 1945 in St. Patrick, Ohio to the late William & Regina (Bernard) Hoying. She married Lester Prenger on June 10, 1967 in St. Augustine Church, Minster and he survives in Minster. She is also survived by children: Tina (Prenger) & David Meyer, Minster, Mark & Jodi Prenger, Minster, Eric & Trisha Prenger, McCartyville, grandchildren, Evan & Madi Urbanowicz, Erin Urbanowicz & fiancé Anthony Inkrott; Jay, Dana, Macy & Bryce Prenger; Madison, Abigail, Audrey & Carson Prenger, great grandchild Ruth Urbanowicz, sisters: Vee Presas, Ft. Loramie, Margie Thieman, Kettering, in-laws Deborah Meis, Tipp City, Eileen Holtzhauer, Fairport, NY, John Prenger, Minster, Bonnie Hoying, West Carrollton, and Rolland Griner, Georgia. She was preceded in death by siblings: CJ & Betty Hoying, Rosie & Roman Saalman, Catherine & James Abele, Al & Joan Hoying, Fr. Leo Hoying, C.PP.S., Ed & Pat Hoying, and Cy Hoying, in-laws: Paul Perin, Art Presas, Velma & Jack Roeckner, Rosemary & Harold VanderHorst, and Tom Holtzhauer. Sue was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, the Mission Commission and St. Anne's Ladies Sodality. She was a registered nurse for over 30 years at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney, Ohio. She was a scout leader for the Girl Scout and the Cub Scouts, enjoyed cooking for others, card club, book club, and loved spending time with family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM Saturday, August 16, 2025 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, Ohio with burial, to follow in St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 3 to 7 PM and on Saturday, August 16 from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Minster-New Bremen Right to Life. Condolences may be left at www.hogenkampfh.com.
