Not sure what to say?

Joan was such a kind a considerate person. I knew her from her years at NCCHS. She also attended several of our reunions over the years. She is missed. Condolences to her families.

miss her

Always enjoyed it when Aunt Joan and John were at family holiday dinners, you'll be missed..... Godspeed

Joan and John were dear cousins of my Dad, Richard E. Johnston. We kept in touch over the years and had quick visits when we would go back to Ohio for family reunions. We enjoyed going for ice cream along the waterfront and sitting on dedicated benches that seemed to be a perfect place to remember them someday. They were very generous in helping me when I first ran for office and we always enjoyed talking politics. Joan fretted getting family keepsakes to members of the Johnston family and...

Joan and John were quite a talkative couple, I enjoyed them when together.

When Joan and her parents moved to Zion, I believe it was our junior year at ZBTHS, we quickly became friends and remained so even after I moved to Texas. We kept in touch by phone sev eral times a year. She would often remind me that I talked her into taking swimming lessons at the Y in Waukegan. I don't think she ever learned to swim, but jokingly accused me of trying to drown her. We had some fun times. She was a special friend. I will miss our phone visits.

I never met you in person Joan but you had a profound and loving effect on my son Robert who was visiting Chicago early in his college years. He talked so kindly about you and John and the way you reached out to him and friends whom you had not previously met. Bobby's (Robert) life was touched and enriched by your kindness and love. Thank you and God Speed.

I lived down the hallway from John and Joan ever since they moved here to Frolic Avenue. I'll miss seeing the two of them.

My high school counselor at NCCHS....married to the father of our dear friend Chuck, who preceded her in death over a decade ago. ÇOndolences to her family.
