Joan Edna Van Note

Joan E Van Note, 89, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on February 22, 2025.Joan is now reunited in heaven with her loving husband, Jerry Van Note Sr. She leaves behind her children, Debra (Thomas), Pamela (Richard), Jerry Jr. and Betty (Jeffrey) who will forever cherish her memory. Joan was a devoted and proud Grandmother of seven and Great Grandmother of 11.She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother and sister.Visitation will be on Friday, February 28 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Niles, IL. Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, at 10:00 am at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home with internment at Mount Emblem Cemetery immediately following the service.Joan was a Registered Nurse at Swedish Covenant Hospital for many years. She loved to travel locally and internationally. Joan was a superior baker and was known for her impressive 30 different Christmas cookies. Everyone looked forward to the cookie platters that she shared with loved ones and friends. She loved animals and volunteered at an animal shelter. North Park Covenant Church played an important part in Joan’s life. She had volunteered for many roles in the church from being a Sunday School Teacher to being on the Deacon Board. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her beloved Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
