Not sure what to say?

Joann was such an amazing person and we are blessed to have known her. Everything she did, she did with a passion!! May your family take comfort in knowing that she is at peace. We are sorry for your loss. She will be missed by many.

In loving memory of my friend, Joann. Joann was a fierce advocate for reading, and her time in the classroom and coaching at KSDE was 100% for students. I will miss our long talks, lunches, and our many conversations during our commute to Topeka. Prayers, Mike and family.

Joann was a marvelous person to work with here at KSDE. She was a joy to collaborate with and always had a new perspective to help me understand the nuisances of whatever project we collaborated on. She was so strong in the midst of her struggles with cancer that she inspired others with her devotion of doing the best for Kansas' children even when I know her energy was low.

I know I will miss her wit, her spirit and her kindness to all her knew her. My thoughts and prayers to her...

Please accept my deepest condolences to you and your family during this difficult time. Joann was a wonderful colleague to me during my time at KSDE. Upon her passing, it prompted me to look back at old text exchanges between us and all I could do was smile. I am grateful for her allyship and safe space during my time there. Joann will always hold a special place in my heart and so grateful that our paths crossed.

Michael, words cannot express how deeply sorry I am for the loss of your lovely wife Joann. Peace be with you, my friend.

Mike,
Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Joann. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May you find comfort in the cherished memories you shared together.

I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. She was an amazing person that I deeply admired. Prayers for her and her family

Joann was a wonderful teacher who made a difference in countless lives, including my children. We loved her wit, sense of humor, and sarcasm. Mike, Jake, Meg, Tate, and families may your memories sustain you during this tough time. Sending lots of love and prayers.

My heart is with you Mike. Joann's heart was so full of everything beautiful that life has to offer. She was the best wife and friend for you. I'm so thankful you both found each other in high school. I'm thinking of you & your family.
