Joe F. Dominguez, 88yr, passed away peacefully at his home in Rodeo, New Mexico, February 25,2026
Our dear brother, uncle, cousin and true friend will be missed by us all. May his humble, kind and caring genuine nature leave us with the inspiration to possess those virtues.
Joe was born in Portal, Arizona, September 14, 1937, along with his twin brother, Ralph. His
parents Manuel and Josefa F. Dominguz preceded him in death. Also preceded in death: Brothers Pete F. Dominguez, Izzy Dominguez and sisters Mary D. Aragon and husband Frank, Petra D. Merino and husband Alfonso, Toni Bernardin and husband Jack. He is survived by brothers Manuel Dominguez, Ralph Dominguez, Leo Dominguez and wife Peg, and sister Nickie Lilyroth, along with many nephews and nieces and their children.
As a boy he grew up in Rodeo, attending elementary school and graduating high school from Animas High School, Animas, New Mexico, Class of 1956.
In 1959 he joined the U.S. Army. After completing 6 years of service he was Honorably Discharged. He was stationed at Fr. Ord, Calif., Fr Hood, Texas., and Ft Huachuca, Arizona.
He served in France and Korea on assignment.
Joe continue his patriotism everyday rising and lowering the U. S. flag at his home. He proudly told stories of his military experiences and memories he cherished.
Joe was an avid basketball fan closely following the NBA and NCAA. He also enjoyed day trips to Portal, Az., and had many entertaining stories of his younger years there with family
and friends.
