Joe N. Vice, Sr.

JOE NATHAN VICE, SR., son of the late Joseph and Lillian Vice, was born on November 9, 1934 in Alvin, South Carolina. He departed this life on June 26, 2016, after a lengthy illness. He received his education at St. Stephens High School in South Carolina. He met and married his wonderful wife of fifty-seven years, Lila Mae Hamilton, and through this union, they had six sons. In 1957, the family moved to Baltimore, Maryland. Joe worked for The Nelson Company prior to retirement after twenty-five years. He was a lifelong member of Salem Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Joe enjoyed singing as a tenor in several gospel groups: The Starlighters and The Gospel Revelators just to name a few. Joe made numerous friends wherever he went and will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew him. He leaves to mourn: his devoted wife, Lila Mae Vice; sons, Joe Jr. (Patricia), Lionel (preceded him in death), Maurice (Felicia), Bernard, Pervis Sr. (Sheketia) and Aldo (Kelly); twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
