Not sure what to say?

Rest in peace Joe, we will always remember your warmth and kindness when we visit you and Linda to your lovely home last summer of 2024. You will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers to your loving Linda and family at this time.

Joel and Linda have been the kindest and most generous neighbors anyone could ask for. Joel always greeted my fam with a wave and a smile and he worked so hard to make his home beautiful for his family. We are all better for have known him.

My prayers are with Brandy and her family. Someday, we will meet with our Savior in Heaven, and Joel can tell us stories. May God richly bless you all. Joel and Linda raised an outstanding daughter, Brandy, who blesses thousands and is a credit to them.

Linda, may God bless you and your family. Be comforted in knowing we will all be reunited in Heaven someday. I remember Joel as a kind and compassionate man. He was also a God fearing Christian and a proud fellow veteran. As a family oriented man he was a wonderful husband and father who has left a legacy that will live on through his children. May he rest in peace.

My Condolences to his family, Linda, Brandy and Joey as well his Grandchildren. He was like another father to me. I'm lost for words. I know that he's in a beautiful place now. I grew up with his children, like a brother and sister. He always loved eating my mom's flower tortillas. He was also a great father and husband. As well a hard worker. May God reunite him with his family in heaven. I love you all Vizmano's. Richard G. Morales, Tucson, AZ.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

We knew Joel only a little, who attended our church with his wife on occasion. His smile and encouraging presence made him a joy to be around. His memory continues even now, and his presence will be missed. May the Lord sustain his wife, Linda, through this difficult time.

Rest In Love Uncle Joe. My love and prayers to the Vimanos Ohana. Love you.

I am so sorry for your loss. When my mother became ill with cancer, Linda and Joel took her into their home and cared for her until her last breath- they welcomed myself and my siblings into their home as well- so kind and loving. Again I am so sorry for your loss-

Joel's Obituary

Joel Autintico Vizmanos, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, went home to his Heavenly Father on July 30, 2025, at the age of 76.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on November 29, 1948, Joel spent his early years in Waipahu before relocating to the mainland when his father, a member of the U.S. Navy, received new orders. Despite the many moves that came with military life, Joel remained deeply rooted in his island heritage.

He graduated from Radford High School in Honolulu in 1966 and that same year, answered the call to serve by enlisting in the United States Air Force. During the Vietnam War, he served on a training mission in Da Nang. After active duty, Joel continued his service through the Hawaii and Arizona Air National Guards. Joel was a proud Vietnam Veteran and American. It was one of his greatest honors to serve his country.

On September 24, 1977, Joel married the love of his life, Linda Peelman. Together, they built a home and a life filled with love, laughter, and faith. They raised their two children, Brandy and Joel (Joey), in Tucson, Arizona, where they lived for 22 years with the exception of about a year in Hawaii. Eventually, Joel and his family made their way to Washington State, where he spent his later years surrounded by his growing family.

A skilled mechanic by trade, Joel worked on golf courses throughout Hawaii, Arizona, and Washington, ultimately retiring from Harbor Point Golf Course in 2023. He was known as the magician because he kept the oldest machinery running, and Dr. Dolittle because forest animals and stray cats would visit him in the shop.

To those who didn’t know him well, Joel may have seemed reserved, but to his family, he was a storyteller with an infectious sense of humor. He loved to "talk story," often sharing tales that grew more colorful with each telling. A talented musician, Joel passed on his passion for music to the next generation, and his home was often filled with song. He was also a proud and knowledgeable gun collector, always exercising his Second Amendment rights with pride and responsibility.

Joel was preceded in death by his parents, Maximo and Filomina Vizmanos; his siblings Dennis, Mercy, Val, Pat, Tony, Janet, Frankie, and Yolanda; and cousins Daniel, Geraldine, Leslie, Pantaleon Jr., Richard, John, Renee, Dwayne, and Joseph.

He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 48 years, Linda; his children Brandy (Ed) and Joel “Joey” (Lady Abigail); and his cherished grandchildren Kyler (Allysa), Sydney, and Jericho. He is also remembered with love by his stepmother, Ber; siblings Florence, Connie, Nancy (Joe), Nona, Evan (Elaine), and Lori (Adil); and in-laws Jeff, Gary, Kathy, Bobbi, Joyce, and Bonnie.

His memory lives on with his nieces and nephews; Dion, Joden, Dana, Sonia, Marcia, Christopher, Candace, Valerie, Theresa, Wendell, Nicole, Robert, Anita, Ramona, Paulo, Marie, Terence, Diana, Peggy, Kevin, Tony, Audra, Patrice, Donna, Philip, Derek, Maria, Jennifer, Catherina, Jolynn, Joseph Jr., Jon, Joyce, Sharon, Deanne, Bryan, Leilani, Celeste, Adrian, Stephanie, Sophia, Mark, Matthew, Nick, Norma, Josh, Armando, Sandra, and Michael along with all of his additional extended family and friends.

Joel’s legacy is one of unwavering faith, enduring love, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A Mahalo to the Memories (Celebration of Life) will be held on Saturday, August 16th at 11:00 at Calvary Arlington, located at 225 E 3rd St, Arlington, WA 98223. Guests are requested to wear aloha or cowboy attire.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that guests wear flower leis to the service. For those unable to attend, leis may be purchased to be shared with guests at the service. Leis may be ordered locally through Colors of Hawaii in Everett by calling 425-737-4477 by August 8th. Be sure to state that you are purchasing for Joel Vizmanos’ memorial. A family friend will deliver the leis to the church the day of the service.
