Mr. John B. Leggett, Jr. Mr. John Bill Leggett, Jr., age 74, a resident of 2457 Hwy. 171 North, Washington, died Wednesday morning, November 7, 2018 at LifeCare Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Friday November 9, 2018 at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Pastor Kurt Honican. Ward Leggett, Dean Leggett, Ronnie Leggett, Jackie Leggett, Milford Leggett and Walter Leggett will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Leggett was born in Martin County on February 11, 1944, son of the late John Bill Leggett, Sr. and Katherine Leggett Wynn. He was a 1962 graduate of Robersonville High School. On April 25, 1970, he married the former Olivia Ann “Libby” Leary, who preceded him in death on April 23, 2013. Mr. Leggett retired after 35 years of service with PCS Phosphate. He was a member of Christian Chapel Church and the National Guard. He enjoyed NASCAR and walks on the waterfront with Priscilla and Chloe. He also enjoyed fishing and working in the yard. Mr. Leggett is survived by his daughter: Misty L. Norman and husband Robert of Bath; his son: John “Tripp” Bill Leggett of Washington; his fiancée: Priscilla B. Stout of Jamesville; his brothers: Gene Leggett of Greensboro and Larry Leggett and wife Shirley of Williamston; his sister: Sharon Everett of Washington and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his sister: Patricia Ann Leggett and his brother-in-law: Shelton Everett. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.
