John Stephen Benson, Jr.

John Stephen Benson, 40, of Dallas, Texas, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025. He was born on June 12, 1985, in Dallas, to loving parents John Stephen Benson, Sr. and Alicia Smith Hall.

John attended Skyline High School, where he was active in sports and enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, and football. Quiet and easygoing by nature, John was known for his gentle spirit and kind heart. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends, who brought joy and laughter into his life.

Over the years, John worked diligently in the commercial janitorial industry, taking pride in every task he performed.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ernest Lee Smith and Jessie Mae Carroll Smith, and his paternal grandparents, Chester Benson and Ruthie Mae Benson.

Cherishing his memory are his devoted mother, Alicia Smith Hall (Gary); father, John Stephen Benson, Sr.; three beloved sons, John Stephen Benson III, De’Ago Jawaan Benson, and Jadarian DeRay Benson; and his loving sister, Latoya Benson, all of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by 10 uncles of Dallas County, Texas; one aunt in Arkansas and a host of other relatives and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

John’s Graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, October 31, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Joan, Arkansas.
