Not sure what to say?

John was a dear friend and fellow banker. He was a carbon copy of his dead, John Boyle, both of whom I highly respected

I am greatly saddened to learn, more than a year later, of John's passing. He was my highly respected boss, mentor, and friend for many years at F&M/Sovran. I regret that I didn't stay in touch much after his journey to Nashville. Today I sought to catch-up with him and learned of his demise. My failure to continue the relationship has hit me hard today. My best to his beloved, Sue and the Boyle family!

I am so saddened to hear of John's death. He was a wonderful man and mentor--kind, crazy smart, caring, always available and a gentle force. He is responsible for producing so many great bankers under his strong tutelage. Sue, our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I think of John often and will never forget him. He helped me so much at the beginning of my career. I can still remember him at Loan Committee at the head of the table. He laughed when I changed his W&M cup...

John, and I worked together for 25 plus yrs at F&M/Sovran etc. He was great in everything he did:banking, citizen, family man,and friend,to mention a few. He will be greatly missed. Randolph McElroy

Mr. Boyle was the most respected executive in all of F&M/Sovran, at least by me. He commanded respect but in a first class and dignified manner. I was a low level bank officer who became a Vice President because John Boyle said I deserved it and approved the promotion. Although I lost touch with him over the years as the Bank morphed into Bank of America, I never forgot him and I am truly saddened to learn of his passing. Although I never met any of his family, my thoughts and prayers go...

Dear Sue and family, we are so sorry to hear about John's death. We have lots of fond memories of our travels together, parties, special visits and shared experiences. We are sad that we cannot be with you at this time, but please know our hearts are with you. Love, Bill and Marga Bales

Sue and Family,we are so sorry to hear of John's passing. We knew Sue and John as neighbors in the "Water's Edge" community at Smith Mountain Lake, as well as golfing with Sue and John over the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.

Bob and Sue Borg

Sue and family, we are so sorry to read of the passing of John. Both of you have been dear friends of ours for years. John had a distinguished banking career and I, Carson, valued his friendship. We will be unable to attend the visitation or the service as we have to head to Durham early Sunday afternoon for Norma's appointment with her hematologist at the Duke Adult Bone Marrow Cancer Center early Monday morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.
God bless
