He grew up spending his time calf roping and team roping at the Chamberlain Ranch and competed in youth rodeo in organizations such as TYRA, YRA, AJRA, and THSRA. It was through these organizations that he grew into a formidable roper and met so many wonderful people who remained such a vital part of his life. In recent years, he and his wife, Kim, established KC Services which turned into a very successful and reputable company in the oilfield community. He was a man whose heart overflowed with generosity, love, and a tenacity for living. They were members of Christian Faith Center in Dilley, Texas, where they met, fell in love, and later married. In recent years, they have attended The Church of the Crossroads in Laredo.
