That was a great obituary - a fitting tribute for a great man! Cheri and family, I mourn with you in your temporary loss. I likewise find joy with you for the reality of John's new residence of peace, and ultimate resurrection!

John Bernell Christoffersen, age 73, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 23,2026, after a courageous battle with renal cell carcinoma. He was born on July 18, 1952, in Logan, Utah.John was a strong, faithful, and devoted man whose life was anchored in his testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served the Lord with fervent dedication throughout his life. As a young man, he served a full-time mission to the Native American people in the Southwest States, an experience that strengthened his testimony and shaped the man he would become. His devotion to the gospel continued through many years of faithful church service. He served as a counselor in two bishoprics, as a high councilman, Elders Quorum President, and in Young Men leadership, mentoring and guiding youth. His favorite calling was serving as a Gospel Doctrine teacher. He loved studying the scriptures and sharing insights that invited others to deepen their faith. Later in life, he and his beloved wife Cheri served together in a FamilySearch service mission, cherishing the opportunity to serve side by side and help others connect with their ancestors.John and Cheri recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, a testament to a lifetime of love, commitment, and partnership. Their marriage was the foundation of their family and a powerful example of devotion and unity. He loved his wife deeply and treasured the life they built together. He loved his children dearly and was immensely proud of each of them: Cassi (David) Pratt, Calli (Dan) Ellinger, Chelsi (Ryan) Dall, Carli (Alex) Wilcox, and Camron (Kenzie)Christoffersen. His family was his greatest joy and most treasured blessing. He was a proud grandfather to 23 grandchildren, with one great grandchild on the way. Being Grandpa brought him immense happiness. He loved attending events, offering encouragement, and watching his posterity grow.John had a deep love for the outdoors. Hunting, camping, and fishing with his children and grandchildren were among his most cherished experiences. Time spent in the mountains and by the water created memories that will endure for generations. They were opportunities to teach, to bond, to laugh, and to create lasting memories.John was known for his sense of humor and the stories he shared. He loved teasing and laughing with his children and grandchildren. He chose to serve his community by driving a school bus for Jordan School District. He took pride in the responsibility, enjoyed the students, and appreciated the opportunity to stay active and connected.
