John Wesley Davis, Sr.

John Wesley Davis, Sr., 81, of Blanchard, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, December 7, 2025. The son of Joseph Allen and Helen Roberta (Elledge) Davis, John was born on January 2, 1944, in Blanchard, where he spent his entire life.

John graduated from Blanchard High School and later married the love of his life, Patricia June Simer, on October 11, 1962. Together they built a life grounded in hard work, faith, and family. A rancher for most of his years, John was never happier than when he was outdoors. He had a lifelong passion for hunting, fishing, and especially team roping, where his competitive spirit and cowboy heart truly shined.

When he wasn’t working the ranch or competing, John could often be found enjoying a good rodeo, cheering on his favorite football teams, or relaxing with classic western movies. Yet above all, family was his greatest joy. Time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought him immeasurable pride and happiness. His steady presence, quick wit, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

John also loved simply driving the back roads, taking in the Oklahoma countryside he knew so well, and stopping along the way to visit friends and neighbors. He found comfort in the familiar fields, dusty roads, and friendly faces that marked his community.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Patricia Davis; his sister, JoAnn Auld; and his brother, George Davis.

John is survived by one son, John W Davis Jr and Debby, of Blanchard; two daughters, Dana Musselman and Scott of Blanchard, and Danice Hayes of Blanchard; grandchildren, Jonathan Davis and Kacie of Blanchard, Ian Davis of Florida, Tanner Martin and McKenzie of Lawton, Ally Shatley and Keith of Blanchard and Kyle Martin of Yukon; great grandchildren, Brilee, Bailey, Olivia, Wesley, Whitley, Maddux, and Matthew; one brother, Sam Davis and Belva of Blanchard; brothers-in-law, Dale Simer and Don Simer, both of Chickasha; sisters-in-law, Jackie Davis and Eva Ray, both of Blanchard; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.

Family and friends may pay their respects during viewing on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. A celebration of John’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard, with burial to follow at Blanchard Cemetery. The family requests that you wear your boots and jeans to celebrate the lifestyle that John lived.
