I am deeply saddened to hear of John's passing. John and I met in 1961 at Saint Peter's School in first grade with Sister Regina Delores. I sat in front of John and he would tell you, I used to turn around and talk to him all the time. He was so afraid the Sister would catch us and trust me when I say we were afraid of her! Although I left Saint Peter's for Bay Head School, we were classmates again at PPBHS and graduated together. John's wife Wendy and I were good friends growing up and...

JOHN DETER was always a most amazing man.What I remember best was his quick wit, boundless energy, and how well he could 'spin a yarn'.Nobody could tell a tale better than John to the absolute delight of his family and friends.
