John became a very good friend of ours. We met him one day driving around the lake. We saw a vacancy sign by his cabin. That was over 25 years ago. We spent two weeks at his cabin every year since. A few of my memories of John were his love of westerns which he revived in me. Didn´t matter if it was pouring rain or sun shining, we would watch western after western. We also shared our love of talking about politics and how like-minded we were in that. We had so many conversations. He always...

John's Obituaries
John Robert Eickholt, 85, entered the Lord’s heavenly kingdom on Wednesday, March12, 2025 at Harlingen Medical Center.
John was born on June 30, 1939, in Ferndale, Michigan to John Joseph Eickholt & Clara Marie Shooltz Eickholt.
John resided in Curtis, MI having retired from General Motors after 31 years of loyal service. He had resided seasonably in Harlingen for the past 16 years where he made many friends throughout the years. John was the last living survivor of his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Bernard, Harold, Raymond, & Donald.
John leaves behind his loving family to cherish his wonderful memory, his beloved wife of 63 years, Sandra Lou Eickholt; four children, Cathy Ann Gross (Craig), Jacqueline Marie Marshall, Robert John Eickholt (Sofia), & James Edward Eickholt (Heather); numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren; 4 sisters-in-law, La Rita Ball, Bernadette Eickholt, Marcia Eickholt, & Phyllis Wilde; one brother-in-law, Daniel Gwizdala, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
