John Fallon was my little league coach, my scout leader, my (actually our gang's) Halloween chaperone and as Steve's dad, father of one of my best friends. My deepest sympathy to Joyce, Kevin, Stephen and Kelly. I always looked,up to my cousin Jack I have fond memories of time spent in his company. He had such a great sense of humor. I remember the first time he brought Joyce to Houghe Neck to meet the extended Fallon family. Joyce, we've loved you since then and still do. Be strong.

John L. Fallon Jr. of Reading, MA, son of the late Ruth and John L. Fallon of Jamaica Plain, passed away on February 24, 2017. Born July 9, 1933 in Cambridge, MA, John graduated from Jamaica Plain High School in the class of 1952. John attended Boston University and then enlisted in the Army as a Military Policeman in the Korean War. John was honorably discharged, was a member of the American Legion Post 76 and served as their youngest commander during the 60's. He worked with his Dad in Boston and later became the owner and manager of Atlantic Parking Corp. With his wife Joyce, they raised three children in North Reading and then settled in Reading. John was a devoted father, who coached his children's basketball and baseball teams and served as scout leader. An active member in the Reading community, he was a Town Meeting Member and also served on the Board of Public Works and the Recreation Committee. John was an avid golfer, played in men's softball leagues, loved being a snowbird in Hollywood, FL, attending auctions and participating in Fantasy Basketball Leagues. In his "retirement", John enjoyed working at Trull Brook Golf Course in Tewksbury as a Starter and Ranger. His favorite moments over the past few years were watching his grandchildren play sports and being with family over the holidays.John is survived by his wife Joyce (Russell) Fallon, of Reading, and children Kevin Fallon of Boston, Stephen Fallon of Reading and Kelly Wentworth and son-in-law Jim Wentworth of Tewksbury. John also has 5 grandchildren; Katelyn, Jenna and Christina Wentworth and Kiera and Jack Fallon.Calling hours will take place at the Douglass Funeral Home at 25 Sanborn Street, Reading, MA on Tuesday, February 28th from 4-8pm. The funeral service will be held at Reading's First Baptist Church at 45 Woburn Street, Reading, MA at 10am on March 1st. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Home for the Little Wanderers, Development Department, 10 Guest Street, Boston, MA 02135 or online at www.thehome.org.
