Not sure what to say?

gone to soon miss and love you dad

I am J.C.'s 2nd cousin once removed ---his grandfather, Johnny, and my mother, Leah, were step-siblings. I didn't know J.C. personally, but thru my mother's true regard for him. I felt almost jealous for my children's image-- her own grandchildren---as she extolled his deeds and virtues. I can see thru pictures and condolences he was a good, kind, loving family man and I am proud to be related to him. Lifting up your family in prayer for the Lord's comfort at this difficult time. I can see...

My thoughts and prayers are with you. May the good Lord give you comfort and strength at this difficult time.

I am so very sorry to hear this news! JC was a school classmate and friend when I was in Salmon. I am sending you my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

You always said I was your 'heroine', Sweet Nephew, which stunned me when you first told me that almost 2 decades ago, but in fact, you were my 'Hero' from the time you were a little tyke...the time we had together the last almost 4 years my Sweet Jc, I consider more precious than silver/ gold or any worldly wealth. As I said to you on April 3rd, 'Goodbye my Precious Nephew and see you on the other side'. My Love to You John & Lucinda, knows no bounds! To Dajuanna and the rest of Jc's so...

We love your family. May the Lord be with you. You are in our prayers. Bishop Frank Bunce & Annette

A few memories of Elder Steele... He was the Peoria, Illinois Mission Assistant to the President and we all had the privilege of serving with him and learning from him. Elder Steele was FUN HAPPY HIGHLY MOTIVATED HARD WORKING & BOUNCY :-) His huge smile was infectious. I could not have admired him more. He did so much good for our mission. My father was the first person in his family to serve a mission and my mother has said time and time again that very specific blessings have come to...

John was born on August 17, 1967 in Salmon, Idaho and raised with his parents John "Jack" William and Jo Steele II along with his siblings. While in high school, JC participated in Track, Cross Country and Drama. Following his graduation in 1985, he attended Concordia University until he left on his mission for the LDS Church where he faithfully served in Illinois Peoria Mission. He really enjoyed his two years as a missionary and treasured the time he had to share the Gospel with so many people. Returning home following his mission, he attended college in Orem, Utah at what is now called Utah Valley University, then Southern Utah University, and finally Utah State University in Logan. When he was not going to school, he was working for the Forest Service seasonally. He began his love of working in the mines in Salmon, Idaho at Beartrack mine. He continued working in the mines in Idaho, Oregon, Wyoming, and Colorado. He so loved the work that soon it became his fulltime pursuit. He met the love of his life, Lucinda "Cindy" Lambing in 2013, and was married on November 30, 2013 in Eagle Mountain, Utah and was sealed in the Temple on March 19, 2016 in Brigham City, Utah where they combined their families of Shaylee, John, Kadon, Rayanna and Koldon. Following his cancer diagnosis, the family returned to Salmon in July of 2015 to be close to the rest of his family. JC was able to spend more time fishing and hunting which he greatly enjoyed. He built his own rods and made many for others to partake in the sport. JC always had a smile for everyone even when his days were really difficult. He greeted you with that welcoming smile and never complained about anything. He had such a love for his family and life itself. His family has lost their teacher, their hero, their friend, father, husband, brother and son. He is survived by his wife Lucinda "Cindy" Steele of Salmon; mothers: Lana Alderson of Pocatello, Idaho and Jo Steele of Salmon, Idaho; children: John Steele II, Shaylee Lambing, Kadon Lambing, Rayanna Lambing and Koldon Lambing all of Salmon, Idaho; granddaughter Callie Lambing of Salmon, Idaho; brothers: Scott (Karen) Martin of Kimberly, Idaho, Sherrod (Brittany) Parkhouse of Pocatello, Idaho; sister Dajuana (Jason) Summers of Salmon, Idaho; mother in law Karen Whitlock of Salmon, Idaho; brother in law Brad (Rachelle) Whitlock of Ephraim, Utah; sister in law Cheri (Kory) Bertelson of Eagle Mountain, Utah; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
