JOHN's Obituary

John KarkelaJohn Karkela, 67, Moose Lake, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth. He was born in Duluth to Edwin and Adalyne Karkela on July 31, 1945. John grew up in Floodwood and graduated from Floodwood High School. He attended UMD graduating in 1968. John began his career at the Moose Lake State Hospital and remained working in Moose Lake as a State Employee at the Moose Lake Regional Treatment Center and MSOP retiring in 2001. He loved spending time with his family and friends, family game night, golf, playing cards, and getting together with the guys for coffee at Joe Jitters.A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 4-6 PM Saturday, September 15, 2012 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake. At John's request, there will be no formal service. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials are preferred. Arrangements by Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
