Not sure what to say?

John was a truly great man who shaped my life for the better. From my very first days at DG through many years of work I respected and treasured his dignity, integrity, hard work, and kindness. He had a great impact on me and will be dearly missed by all.

We were fortunate to have John as part of our community of readers at Bolton Public Library. The entire staff loved to talk with him as he was always so interested, interesting, warm, funny, and generous--especially with the legendary truffles at holiday time. We will miss his visits very much. Sending our warmest thoughts to Ginny and family.

I thank God, for the great memories, I have of John! A kind hearted, wonderful man, that was loved by many

Kris & Family, I am sorry for your loss my condolences to your family. Treasure the memories that you have - they will carry through this hard time. RIP

Dear Kristine and family, please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your loved one.

Thank you for everything. For just being you.
You tough me so much about being the best person I can be.
Commitment. Dignity. Integrity. Humility. Respect. Intelligence. Thoughtfulness. Being a gentleman. The importance of just doing the right thing, every time.
Love you forever.

I could always count on your smile and a very warm “hello” whenever I saw you. The words that come to mind when I think of you are kind, good, friendly, and a constant in our little neighborhood. You are missed.

I did not have the pleasure to meet John, but I’ve been blessed working with his daughter Carol. Through her love of him, she has shared many wonderful memories with me of John. My condolences to the family. He was very loved and will surely be missed.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. Our sympathies to Family. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you..

John was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, raised and educated in Central Falls, and graduated from Central Falls High School, Class of 1960, where he modestly declined the honor of Valedictorian.  John attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, majored in Engineering and was enrolled in ROTC training.  Following studies, he entered the workforce with H.P. Hood in Providence as a milkman.  He had many colorful experiences delivering milk on Federal Hill prior to joining their office as a Data Processing Specialist.  John would later pursue his career in Information Technology, working for many years at Data General as the Senior Operations Manager of Finance before ultimately retiring from the same role at EMC.  In younger years, John devoted all of his spare time to Pawtucket youth sports, coaching his children’s teams in baseball, hockey, and football, and serving as Past President of the Fairlawn Little League.  A lifelong nature enthusiast, John held a membership with Tower Hill Botanic Garden.  He enjoyed golfing, hiking, travelling with Ginny, and spending countless hours maintaining their beautiful property.
