I just found out about Papa John. Wow. What a great guy. To me he was like a grandfather. I loved hearing his stories. And his laugh! And his words of wisdom that I´ll always remember. He helped me get through a very difficult time in my own life. I´ll always miss Papa John.

John P. McClain, Jr., 83, of Beaumont passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 in Nederland, Texas.
The Celebration Service celebrating the life of Mr. McClain will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, located at 3920 W. Cardinal Dr., Beaumont, Texas with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park and Cemetery under the direction of Mercy Funeral Home. A public visitation will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 p.m. at Mercy Funeral Home Chapel and on Saturday, May 29, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church. The practice of social distancing and facial masks required.Mr. McClain's memories will forever remain in the hearts of his loving wife, Esther McClain of Beaumont, Texas; daughter, Julia Harris; two sons, Clinton Dequir and Christopher McClain (Chastity); bonus children, Andre James and Renee Redou (Troy) all of Beaumont, Texas; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
