John J. McHugh, Jr.

John J. McHugh, Jr., 69, of Scranton, died Sunday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. His wife was the late Cathy J. McHugh who died in 2012.Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late John J. Sr. and Marie McColligan McHugh. Prior to retirement he was a plumber with Local 524 for 47 years. John was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing.Surviving is a son, Michael McHugh and his wife Terri, Peckville ; two brothers, Ed McHugh and his wife Maureen and Jerry McHugh, both of Scranton; four grandchildren, Shane, Connor, Robyn and Avery; and two nieces, Meghan and Alyssa McHugh.He was preceded in death by a son, John McHugh III who died in 2014.Services will be private at the convenience of the family.Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home & Cremation Svcs., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA.
