John Duff Michael Jr., 94, of North Koontz Road, died Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Hinkle Hospice House, following a sudden illness.A funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Davidson Funeral Home with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service and other times at the home of his son on N. Koontz Road.Mr. Michael was born March 1, 1921, in Davidson County, to John Duff Michael Sr. and Jenny Myers Michael. He was a welder at Coble Dairy prior to his retirement and of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Broadway Michael; five brothers, Lesley Michael, Hugh Michael, Archie Michael, Kenneth Michael, and Paul Michael; and three sisters, Mary Green, Inez Burleson, and Geraldine White.Surviving are son, Kermit Michael and wife Regina of Lexington; grandchildren, Christine Michael and boyfriend John, Sabrina Michael and girlfriend Jeannette, Shane Michael and fiancé, Crystal Ellender, Travis Johnson and wife Samantha, and Michael Johnson II; great-grandchildren, Austin Hoke and Diamond, Alex Hoke, Zander Johnson, Justice Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Logan Johnson, Dawson Norman, and Dylan Ellender; great-granddaughter, Serenity Johnson; and brother, Barton Michael and wife Betty of Oak Island.Memorials may be made to Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
