Obituary

John's Obituary

John Munoz Jr., age 55, was born in Florence, Arizona on June 8, 1965 and resided in Blythe, California at a young age. He passed away suddenly due to a massive heart attack and many other health issues.

In his lifetime, he enjoyed hanging out with his grandkids. Although he was legally blind, they never failed to take away the darkness and make his days brighter. There was nothing in this world that could take his grandkids away from him. There were days when he would sit in his 1959 Chevy Apache listening to oldies as he ran the engine in the background. He would sometimes be accompanied by some of his closest friends and family.

Even though he is gone, his love of lowriders and his family will remain in our hearts.

John Munoz Jr., aka OG, was loved by many. He was preceded in death by his mother Erminia ‘Tila’ Zarate. He leaves behind his father Johnny Munoz, his grandma Cleotilde M. Zarate and his five siblings, Frances Munoz, Bernice Lopez, Melissa Zarate, Hilario Lopez and Angel Lopez. He also leaves behind his loving wife Maria Romero and his daughter Adina Munoz. He was the true meaning of a great father to his daughter. He raised her well, inspiring her to become a nurse and working as a nurse today. Because of her father’s sickness, Adina became determined to help people who are in need. He not only raised his daughter, but his wife’s four other children: Lorenzo Romero Jr., Tommy Zarate, Danica Zarate and Abel Zarate. He raised them as if they were his own. He was the world’s greatest Tata to all of his grandkids and great grandkids.

Services will be held on Friday, August 28th at Frye Chapel with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and Rosary starting at 11:00 a.m. with burial following at Palo Verde Cemetery.
