John Pittman, age 67 of Somerset, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at his residence. John was born on September 3, 1958 at Somerset, KY, the son of Dock Griffith and Janette Stringer Griffith. John was a bus driver for Pulaski County Board of Education. John loved spending time with his kids and family, hunting, fishing, sending Tik-Toks, driving the school bus and spending time with all the kids.
Survivors included his wife, Shirley Lynn Baker Pittman; two sons, Brandon Todd Pittman (Nicole Graykowski) of Temecula, CA and Kayden Maurice Pittman of Somerset; one daughter, Carlie Michelle Pittman; one grandson, Bennett Gray Pittman; one brother, Harold Pittman of Somerset; sisters, Janice Thomas (Mike) of Somerset and Cindy Byers (Richard) of Sellersburg, IN; extended family members, neighbors and friends who are saddened by his passing.
In addition to his parents, Dock and Janette Stringer Griffith, John was preceded in death by his siblings, Steve Pittman, Sherry Lewis, Richard Pittman, Billy Pittman, Jason Griffith and Kevin “Hobo” Pittman.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Hwy 80, Somerset, KY 42503. The funeral Service will follow on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Will Brown officiating. Cremation will follow.
