John's Obituaries
John William Proctor, Jr., age 86, of Centre passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Perry Funeral Home with graveside services to be held at Cherokee Memory Gardens immediately following the visitation.
He is survived by his son, Col. (RET) John W. (Claire) Proctor, III, of Centre, daughters, Karen (Ronnie) Voss of Florence, Alabama, Kelly (Jamie) Jordan of Centre, and Krista (Dr. John) Adams of Columbia, Missouri, sister, Ann Johnson of Centre, 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Munson Proctor.
Mr. Proctor was a native of Scottsboro, Alabama, the son of the late John William, Sr., and Caroline Carpenter Proctor. He was a graduate of Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and later served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was the former owner and manager of Proctor Motor Company and Proctor-Gladden Ford, a former Centre City Council Member, and a member of Centre First United Methodist Church.
The family will accept house plants or donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
