John's Obituary

John William Pycraft, 93, of Elyria, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday May 11, 2014 at the New Life Hospice residential center in Lorain. He was born June 1, 1920 in Elyria and was a lifelong resident of Elyria. He was a stationary engineer and was employed at the Pfaudler Company in Elyria for 25 years and retired in 1985. Mr. Pycraft was a member for many years of First Baptist Church in Elyria where he formerly served as a deacon. He enjoyed golfing with his sons and he loved spending time with his grandkids and great- grandkids. He is survived by two sons, Ken (Darlene) and Dennis (Sandy) Pycraft; three granddaughters, Kim Feldmann (Dan), Michelle Thompson (Joe) and Angela Hogle (Ray); one grandson, Kevin Pycraft (Laura); 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Ray (Mary Lou) and Richard (Pat) Pycraft; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian in 1982, by his parents, John and Pearl Pycraft, a granddaughter, Denise Litza and by a sister, Nora Bachman. The family will receive friends on Wednesday May 14, 2014 from 5 to 8pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. Funeral services will be Thursday May 15, 2014 at 11:00am at the funeral home with Mr. Pycraft's son, Pastor Dennis Pycraft, officiating. Burial will be at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Christian School in Elyria.
