Not sure what to say?

Our hearts and prayers go out to Lacrisha and family. Got to know Randy when Lacrisha and I worked the elections together. He was fun to talk to and would come check on us though out the day on elections. He and Lacrisha were proud of their kids but even more proud of their grandkids.

Randy was a great vet and compassionate man,he cared for the animals he doctored. Was our vet for many years. He will be truly missed. Heaven got a great angel.

Our condolences and may God bless the entire family during this time. There is a time of grieving and sorrow but we pray you all are comforted in knowing that Randy is 100% whole, pain free, and in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ!!

Prayers for family of a good man. Class mate and friend

Prayers for healing and comfort on your loss. Thanking God for the many good memories of your family thru the years.

Rest in peace my true and faithful servant. We truly miss you already but know you making your presence known in Heaven.

Such a good man, we are praying for your family.

Praying for the family. He was such a wonderful man and we will miss him.

John "Randy"'s Obituary

Dr. John Randolph “Randy” Sohl, DVM

November 23, 1956 – September 15, 2025

Dr. John Randolph “Randy” Sohl, DVM, went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born November 23, 1956, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Bob and Louise Sohl.

Randy graduated as valedictorian of Webster High School in 1975. He went on to attend Oklahoma State University, earning his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1982.

At just 18 years old, Randy met the love of his life, Lacrisha Byars, who was 15 at the time. After dating for 5 ½ years, they were married on August 8, 1980, and this year celebrated 45 years of marriage.

In 1984, Randy and Lacrisha opened the Mounds Veterinary Clinic, where he faithfully cared for animals and their families until 2025. While he loved animals, Randy always said he loved people even more. He considered caring for animals a calling and a ministry, a way to serve his community and share Christ’s love.

Randy was a dedicated member of Mounds First Baptist Church, where he served as both a Sunday School teacher and a deacon. He also poured his time and energy into his town, actively participating in the Mounds Lions Club, Mounds Senior Citizens, the Mounds Car Show, the annual Fish Fry, the Chamber of Commerce, the town’s fireworks display, and many other community events.

Outside of his work and community service, Randy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and skeet shooting. He had a passion for guns, knives, and flashlights. But above all, his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. His faith was his foundation, and he wanted everyone he met to know the love of Jesus.

Randy was the salt of the earth—a straight shooter with a compassionate heart. He went above and beyond in all he did and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Randy is survived by his loving wife, Lacrisha Sohl; his daughter, Marla Hope, and son-in-law, Wendell Hope; his son, Kirk Sohl, and daughter-in-law, Jenni Sohl; his grandchildren, Charlotte Hope, Carter Hope, Karmen Sohl, and Ayla Sohl; and his brother, Jimmy Sohl, and sister-in-law, Jennifer Sohl.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 20th at the Mounds First Baptist Church, 101 E 14th St., Mounds, OK 74047.

Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S Main ST, Kellyville, OK 74039, 918-247-7373.
