Whenever I would remember my cousin John, his soulful eyes always came to my mind. We were both children when we last saw each other. My dad, Juan Grande, and his dad were brothers. My deepest condolences to his children and brothers and sisters.

I'm missing you so much just doesn't seem like it's getting easier thank you for being the father figure I needed thank you for being my back bone, to me you were my real papa. You're my heart, I love you rest in piece papa

John will be sadly missed. He was a wonderful grandpa to my granddaughter Erin. Rest in peace John

Mr. John E. Sanchez, of Bay City, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at McLaren Bay Region, age 69. The son of the late Theodore and Pauline (Estrada) Sanchez, he was born on June 24, 1947 in San Antonio, Texas. John moved with his family to Michigan as a child. He worked at Grey Iron Foundry for 25 years. John loved music and enjoyed collecting records. John is survived by his wife, Denise D. Sanchez, whom he married in 2013. He is also survived by his five children, Yvonne (James) Morris of Bridgeport, Kurt (Deann) Sanchez, Michelle (Barry) Lile and Scott (Brandi) Sanchez all of Bay City and Melissa (Juan) Sanchez of Saginaw; ten grandchildren, Sarah, Tiffany, Claire, Isabelle, Ryan, Brendan, Trey, Jayden, Brooklyn and Jordyn; two step-children, Lisa and Sarah, a step-granddaughter, Erin and a step-great-grandson, Colton; six great-grandchildren, Samantha, Nichole, Carissa, Alex, Blake and Chloe; two brothers, Henry (Sharon) Sanchez and Louie (Beverly) Sanchez both of Saginaw; two sisters, Irene Sanchez and Juanita Sanchez both of San Antonio, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, John was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amiyah Rodriguez; a brother, Gilbert Sanchez; and a sister, Teofilia Herrera. The Funeral Service will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Jose Maria Cabrera with the Rite of Committal following at Elm Lawn Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service.
