I was sad to learn of John’s passing. My brother and I spent a lot of time with John during grade school years. We watched out our living room window with keen interest when your house on Park Ave was being built. As soon as you moved in, we started to hang out with John – playing catch, riding bikes, helping occasionally with his paper route – just the usual things kids did after school or during the summer. We were so sorry to hear of John's passing when we were in Mendota for our dads funeral last weekend. Dad thought so highly of John and Gene. He loved working with them over the years at the hardware store. I can see dad giving John the tour up there, showing him around. We will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers.

I knew John being a customer for many years. John was always friendly, helpful, with a smile on his face. When he worked Sundays during the football season, I can see him being at his work desk with a small television set watching the Bears. My condolences to the family. Chris Csernus, customer

I always enjoyed my visits with John when I shopped at the store. I have moved out of town now so don't get there any longer. He was a super friendly and helpful fellow and always enjoyed talking to customers. He will be missed by many Mendota residents, for sure.
