So sorry Kay and Jerry to hear this sad news. I had such a good visit with both of them during Aunt Sue's Birthday.We often sent funny e-mails back and forth to keep in touch, I will miss doing that.

John Lewis (J.L.) Summers, Sr., 72, of Salem, Mo. died Saturday, April 18, 2015 at his residence. Born April 3, 1943 at Poplar Bluff Mo., son of the late Veaurl and Almae Summers. On January 5, 1962, in Piggott, Ark., he married Alma Arlene Summers. He was preceded in death by one sister Alma Jean Summers and one grandson Elijah Coffell.Survivors include three daughters, Stephanie Phipps and husband Barry of O'Fallon, Mo., Wendy McCardie and husband Brian of Troy Mo., Billie Coffell and husband Travis of St. Paul, Mo., and one son John Summers, Jr. and wife Tina of Elsberry, Mo.; six grandchildren, Tiffany Hohl, Zachary Hohl and wife, Cassie, Austin, Curtis and Phillip McCardie, and Mallorie Coffell; four great-grandchildren Emma Folkerts, Elizabeth Hohl, Caitlin and Olivia Hohl. He is also survived by one sister Kay Lipsey and one brother Jerry Summers.He graduated in 1960 from Qulin High School in Qulin, Mo. He was employed by Ford Motor Corporation in Hazelwood, Mo for 30+ years. He enjoyed tinkering and caring for his wife on their farm in Salem, Mo.Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., Thursday, April 23rd with services following at 10 am at Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell. Brother Jerry Summers will be officiating service; followed by burial at the Carola Cemetery in Qulin.
