John William Franklin “Bill” Garner, age 49 of Nancy, KY passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025 at his residence.
Bill was born on March 14, 1976 , the son of John “Derf” Garner and Betty Jo Stephens Garner. He worked in the boating industry. He enjoyed shooting guns with Matthew Patterson and Jeremy Brown, canoeing, kayaking and making grapevine wreaths.
Survivors include his mother, Betty Jo Cordell of Burnside; uncle Gene Garner; cousins, Michael Garner (Natasha Duncan) , Cheston Garner and Tabitha Jo Morgan, all of Nancy; maternal grandmother, Alverta Stephens of Rusell County; uncle(s) Barry Neal Stephens (Tracy), Danny Stephens (Susan), Jerry Stephens (Jewell) and Boris Stephens (Tammy) all of Russell County; Lindsey Garner of Nancy; aunt(s) Marie Frye (Wayneth) of Nancy, Joan Garner, Donna Stephens of Russell County, Mary Lou Daulton of Bronston and Lois Taylor of Monticello; extended family members, neighbors and friends who are saddened by his passing.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, John Wayne “Derf” Garner; his brother, Jason Garner; paternal grandparents, John Will and Sarah Garner; maternal grandfather, Teddy Stephens; one uncle, Randy Stephens and one aunt, Cheryl Stephens.
Visitation for Bill will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Sardis Chapel Church, 281 Sardis Rd, Nancy, KY 42544. The funeral Service will follow on Wednesday, October 1st at 12:00 noon at Sardis Chapel with Bro. Chris Jasper officiating. Burial will follow at the Whitis Cemetery, Nancy, KY.
